What is Clinical Supervision?
A forum or safe space for you to discuss specific cases / clients or to discuss ethical or practice dilemmas, an opportunity to discuss “the stuff that keeps you awake at night.”
Clinical Supervision can be:
- Discussing and monitoring standards and ethical practice – normative (managerial)
- Developing your skills, knowledge and understanding – formative (educational)
- Providing opportunity for you to explore your emotional responses to events that have occurred, recharge your energy, renew creativity and prevent burnout – restorative (supportive)
