Harris Memorial Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic HCA to join our Practice and be a part of our team making a difference for our patients.

The role of HCA is an integral part of our clinical team providing the full range of NHS General Medical Services. The successful candidate will work alongside our friendly and patient-focused clinical and management teams, providing essential support functions to deliver the best care for our patients. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and autonomously, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, and showing sensitivity, discretion, empathy and tact in all aspects of the job.

Who we are

Harris Memorial Surgery is a long-established GP Surgery with a main site in the village of Illogan and a branch site in the village of Lanner, near Redruth, Cornwall. We have around 6,500 registered patients and a team of around 30 staff.

Main duties of the job

Role requirements

Undertake tasks and duties delegated by the clinical and management teams
Undertake procedures such as taking blood samples for adults and children over the age of 12, recording clinical observations, blood pressure checks, fit and remove 12-lead ECGs, diabetic foot checks, health checks and assessments, simple dressings, suture and clip removal
Order supplies and equipment
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Basic computer experience
Demonstrate an understanding of General Practice
