Vitamin B12 Deficiency Training (Virtual Learning) – 3rd October 2024

This training provides health care workers with information related to types of vitamin B12 deficiency and how to manage it. The training includes information on how to administer the vitamin B12 injection.  The training develops knowledge of vitamin B12 deficiency and how it is diagnosed, treated, and managed. It also reinforces and builds upon prior knowledge of medicine management, medicine administration and important legal aspects, including consent, capacity, record keeping etc.

This vitamin B12 deficiency training is delivered virtually in one interactive 90minute session. The training is interprofessional and suitable for both registered professionals and healthcare support workers (HCSWs) that administer vitamin B12 injections in primary care. However, HCSWs wishing to attend this training MUST have achieved education and training to Level Three of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) with at least 2 years’ experience as a HCSW and have completed immunisation foundation training (as although a Vitamin B12 injection is not an immunisation, the practical skills required and knowledge base required is in line with that of administering an immunisation).
