The Oliver McGowan Mandatory training aims to provide the health and care workforce with the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate and informed care to autistic people and people with a learning disability. This requirement is set out in the Health and Care Act 2022.
Tier 1 training is for non patient facing staff. Tier 1 training consists of completion of an e-learning programme PLUS a 75 minute virtual session via MS Teams. This session is co-facilitated by experts with lived experience who either have a learning disability or who are autistic.
In advance of the training day, you must complete the E-Learning for Health module – The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
