Safer Workload Workshop

Do you want to work towards reducing your workload?

Whether this is a small change or a move towards 25 patients a day, we want to help you make this happen.

Managing workload is one of the five workstreams of the Collaborative Board.  Kernow LMC and Cornwall Training Hub are working together to help you make the changes you need to manage your workload better.  There is wide spread agreement that the current situation is not sustainable and we want to make 2025 the year to make a change.   We kicked off this discussion with a webinar last month hosted by Dr Rachel Morris.  The webinar explored the psychology of boundaries, why we struggle with them and some techniques to help us implement them.  This webinar was recorded – if you would like access to the recording, please email kernowhealthcic.workforce@nhs.net

Workshop overview

This face to face workshop is the next step to help you plan how you can do this for your Practice.  The workshop will be facilitated by Dr Sarah Coope from Wild Monday and a QI expert facilitator to examine what your challenges are and how to solve them.  The session will cover:

  • Leading through Change – the essential mindsets you need to communicate well and deal with resistance, utilising concepts from the Shapes Toolkit.
  • QI approach and tools for implementation
  • Building and connecting Practices and a creative support network
  • What you need to do to make it happen in your Practice – action planning and next steps.

The session will help you develop practical steps to implement change in your area.  It will also help you connect with others trying to make similar changes so we can tackle the problems together and share learning.

It will be helpful if you carry out some pre-work ahead of the workshop.  Details of this will be sent to you once you have confirmed your booking.  We are looking for a maximum of two people per Practice to attend this workshop.

Next Steps

This workshop forms part of the ongoing support to help you make changes to your workload.  There will be additional opportunities to meet face to face and online throughout the year to receive support as you make the changes.
