Intimate Examinations – The Basics (Face to Face Learning) – 16th July 2024


This event is taking place on the 16th July 2024, 9.00-4.00, in the Chenoweth Suite at the Victoria Offices and Conference Centre.

This is a funded, full-day event which will cover the basics of intimate examinations, including common primary care presentations and their management. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to put your newfound knowledge to use on medical training aids.

By the end of the day, you will understand how to complete a range of intimate examinations (identifying both normal and abnormal findings), as well as understanding basic anatomy and the management of common presentations and their red flags. Specifically, you will be able to complete:

  • digital vaginal and bi-manual examination
  • testicular and scrotal examination
  • digital rectal examination
  • breast examination

This event will be led by Lily Dixon (Paramedic Profession Lead, BNSSG Training Hub) with support from Dr Lucy Pope (GP locum).

PLEASE NOTE – lunch will not be provided. You are welcome to bring your own.
