While the menopause is a natural stage of life, the fact that each women’s experience can be different, makes diagnosis, treatment, and management a complex area for clinicians. This session provides an overview of three main areas of concern when managing menopause in Practice. Using case studies and interactive discussion, it will explore various options for treatment. It is aimed at Clinicians, particularly GPs, Nurses and AHPs. It is delivered by Dr Jo Parry, a local GP with a specialist interest in women’s health. She also supports the Training Hub with an educational advice and guidance service on treatment of the menopause and regularly receives questions regarding these topics.
The session covers:
- Unscheduled/post menopausal bleeding
- Use of Progesterone, Oestrogen, and Testosterone
- Breast cancer/family of history of cancer
