While the menopause is a natural stage of life, the fact that each women’s experience can be different, makes diagnosis, treatment, and management a complex area for clinicians. This session provides an overview of the fundamentals of menopause management for those new to the area, or those that may need a refresh. It is aimed at Clinicians, particularly GPs, Nurses and AHPs. It is delivered by Dr Jo Parry, a local GP with a specialist interest in women’s health. She also supports the Training Hub with an educational advice and guidance service on treatment of the menopause.
This is a foundation course which covers the following:
- Running a simple menopause consultation
- Assessing the need for HRT
- Examination of the various hormone treatments available
- Contraception and HRT
As a follow up to this course, you may wish to consider undertaking “Advanced Menopause Practice” which explores common problems within menopause management.
Cost of Course
This course is provided free of charge to members of the Primary Care Education Programme. For non-members, a charge of £48 (including VAT) applies.
