This course is being run on 20th May 2026, 9:30am at St Austell Rugby Club.
This session is designed for aspiring, new, and experienced people managers who want to strengthen their skills in managing employee absence while fostering a culture of wellbeing. Participants will explore practical strategies for reducing absence, supporting staff health, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and legal requirements. Through best practice guidance, people managers will gain the confidence to handle sensitive conversations, promote early intervention, and create a supportive work environment that drives engagement and productivity.
Your facilitator will be Kernow Health CIC’s very own Ian Bailey. Ian has worked in HR and Training for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience. Ian currently supports a myriad of practices within the county with their HR conundrums, whether that be employment-related questions or training advice. He also delivers on our award-winning Practice Managers programme, so he has a good understanding of the challenges faced within Primary Care, and the importance of developing and retaining employees.
