The Oliver McGowan Training on Learning Disability and Autism


Aims to provide the health and care workforce with the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate and informed care to autistic people and people with a learning disability.

The Health and Care Act 2022 introduced a statutory requirement that CQC-registered providers must ensure their staff receive learning disability and autism training appropriate to their role.  The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is the standardised training that was developed for this purpose and is the government’s preferred and recommended training for health and social care staff.

Please email rcht.olivermcgowantraining@nhs.net to request a place. If there is availability on your chosen date, you will receive a confirmation of booking. If you DO NOT receive a confirmation, then a place has NOT been booked. An MS Teams invite will be sent the day prior to the session for Tier 1 training. If you are making a booking for another person, please ensure that you include their name, email address and work location in your booking email.
