Working closely with colleagues from other health and social care services, we provide care for our patients both in and out of hours as well as for the inpatients in the community hospital. Regular clinics are carried out on the 4 inhabited ‘off islands’ which are reached by a purpose-built medical launch.
We are a satellite practice of Helston Medical Centre and hold an APMS contract together with optometry and pharmacy contracts. SystemOne is the clinical system used. The practice was rated as outstanding at the last CQC inspection.
The ideal candidate will be resilient, flexible, and keen to embrace a ‘traditional’ and vocational style of general practice – where serving a small community provides the opportunity for the GP to really understand and meet each patient’s needs.
Urgent care / out of hours experience is desirable. Other desirable skills to include: experience of rural medicine, ability to perform minor ops and GP registrar supervision (military GP registrars have a 3-month placement with us).
Education courses are offered to ensure our GPs are safely equipped to work in this remote environment.
