This course is being run on 22nd April 2026, 9:00am until 5:00pm at Hotel Vara, 49 Falmouth Road, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 2HL
This full-day educational session is designed for primary care clinicians who support people living with Type 2 Diabetes and wish to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and confidence in pre-insulin management and treatment optimisation. The session focuses on evidence-based approaches to glycaemic control, lifestyle interventions and medication pathways prior to the initiation of insulin therapy. The educational content is RCN accredited and aligns with national guidance, promoting individualised, person-centred care planning relevant to primary care practice.
Learning Outcomes (summary)
By the end of the session, participants will have:
- Increased understanding of Type 2 Diabetes management prior to insulin initiation.
- Greater awareness of lifestyle and medication treatment options.
- Improved confidence in applying national guidance to individual patient care.
- Enhanced understanding of monitoring, review and safety considerations in diabetes care.
