Main duties of the job

We introduced telephone consulting over 8 years ago. We have continually improved our system to achieve good patient access and satisfaction; whilst still allowing the GPs to remain in control of their workload and their day.

We have worked hard to reduce the level of administrative work for our GPs through our skilled Medical Secretary team processing tasks, E-Consults and medical reports; Medical Optimisation team dealing with medication queries and reconciliation; clinical support to help reduce pathology processing and an Administrative Support team to assist with QOF, systems, coding and data.

We encourage all our staff to take opportunities to develop other interests to enhance their day-to-day general practice. We would encourage any new GPs to develop other skills that would contribute to the practice or work with us on any of the following:

Training GP registrars, F2 doctors, medical students, pharmacists, and nurses.

Working with our dedicated research team.

Supporting the dispensaries and practice owned on-site pharmacy.

Womens health clinics

Substance misuse clinics

Specialist Dermatology clinics

Minor operations and joint injections

Green Impact for Health Silver Award, working towards the Gold award.

GP appraisals

Universal Personalised Care

Veteran Friendly Accreditation

Each day the on-call GP is supported by a team of Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates, Mental Health Nurses, Physios and Clinical Pharmacists, and a full-time Social Prescriber. For a practice of this size, we have a small number of daily home visit requests.

Our large clinical team is supported by a dynamic, well-structured management and administrative team to allow smooth and efficient running of the practice. This also enables us to seize opportunities to innovate and further improve our patient care and the wellbeing of our staff.
