Salaried GP, Fixed Term Contract – Wadebridge and Camel Estuary

Hours: 6 sessions per week
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our dispensing practice of 7800 patients, situated in the Camel Estuary on the stunning North Cornish Coast, for 6 sessions per week. This is a fixed term post running from September 2025 until August 2026.

We are a dynamic, supportive training practice. The clinical team currently consists of 5 GPs (2 GP Partners), nurse practitioner, practice nurses and HCAs. We have an excellent team of dispensers, receptionists and administrative staff.

We are members of the North Cornwall Coast Primary Care Network and work very closely with our neighbouring practices providing a Social Prescriber, Mental Health Care Practitioners, Pharmacist, Paramedics and First Contact Physiotherapists.

We are looking for a committed, dynamic individual who works well in a team.

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d. Effective management of long-term conditions
e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other
associated administrative tasks
f. On a rotational basis, undertake duty doctor roles and evening surgery
g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the
practice
k. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
l. Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance
and training
m. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
n. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
o. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
p. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
q. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance
income and reduce expenditure
r. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
s. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous
improvement at all times
