MAGIC training for Paramedics working in Primary Care (Face to Face Learning) – 20th May 2026 (morning)

The Royal College of Paramedics are offering a free, national training opportunity for Paramedics working in Primary care.  This will be held at the Victoria Conference Centre, St Austell.

What is MAGIC Training?

  • MAGIC is a simulation-based emergency preparedness programme developed by GPs for GP Teams.
  • It focuses on high-stress, low-frequency primary care emergencies (BLS/Asthma /Seizures etc).
  • Using structured checklists, MAGIC has been shown to reduce errors and support practice teams in managing emergencies effectively until an ambulance arrives.

All participants receive the Quick Reference Handbook and supporting resources to use within their practices after completion.

Why Paramedics?

Primary Care Paramedics  are ideally positioned to deliver MAGIC due to:

  • Confidence in managing acute presentations.
  • Experience with primary care emergencies.
  • Familiarity with in-situ simulation training.
  • Ability to train whole practice teams.

The overarching aim is to improve practice resilience, ensuring clinicians and administrative staff can function as a coordinated team during emergencies and improve patient outcomes.
