Lunch and Learn: How can FeNo (fractional exhaled nitric oxide) testing help to confirm asthma diagnosis? (Virtual) – 21st April 2026

BTS/NICE/SIGN asthma guidelines recommend FeNO as the first test to diagnose asthma but how does that work in reality? What about the borderline results? This session will run through guideline recommendations and consider how that fits in clinical practice.

It is essential that any clinician providing asthma care is aware of recent changes to national guidance and feels supported and able to implement them.

The 2024 BTS/NICE/SIGN guideline marks a major shift in asthma management. It emphasises that every patient, whether newly diagnosed, under investigation, or previously undertreated MUST have access to the right treatment from the very first point of contact, including in unplanned care settings.

This session will be led by Carol Stonham MBE, Senior Nurse Practitioner – Respiratory, CYP Asthma Clinical Lead for NHS Gloucestershire
