This session provides an overview of the fundamentals of menopause management for those new to the area, or those that may need a refresh. This course is for registered professionals, particularly GPs, Nurses and AHPs.
It is delivered by Dr Charlotte Patton. Dr Patton is a Women’s Health GP and registered British Menopause Society Menopause Specialist working at St Austell Healthcare. She is one of the Clinical Leads for Women’s Health in Cornwall and runs the Cornwall Menopause Advice and Guidance Service at kernowhealthcic.menopauseadviceandguidance@nhs.net.
This is a foundation course which covers the following:
- Running a simple menopause consultation
- Assessing the need for HRT
- Examination of the various hormone treatments available
- Contraception and HRT
As a follow up to this course, you may wish to consider undertaking “Advanced Menopause Practice” which explores common problems within menopause management.
Cost of Course
This course is provided free of charge to members of the Primary Care Education Programme. For non-members, a charge of £65 applies.
