This FeNO masterclass is designed to support healthcare professionals who are performing, or planning to perform, FeNO testing for the diagnosis and management of asthma. It is suitable both for those who are new to FeNO and for those who would like a refresher to update their knowledge and confidence.
The session will cover:
- An overview of type 2 inflammatory airways disease
- The principles of measuring nitric oxide
- How to interpret FeNO results in clinical practice
- Case study discussions to support real-world application
- An overview of current recommendations for FeNO testing in the NICE/BTS/SIGN asthma guidelines (2024, NG245)
The session is practical, clinically focused and aimed at helping you feel more confident using FeNO to support asthma diagnosis and management.
Following the training, participants will be invited to complete a short online survey. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
About the facilitator – Karen Frankland
Karen is a Primary Care Respiratory Nurse Specialist and qualified teacher, with over 30 years’ experience across the NHS, occupational health, the pharmaceutical industry and education. She has a particular interest in modern asthma diagnostics and is passionate about the effective use of FeNO testing to improve patient care.
